How to Practice Self-care When it Feels Like the World Is Crumbling

Study of Ayurveda through the Joyful Belly College of Ayurveda

This in-depth program has given me extensive knowledge and insight, and I’m excited to begin offering this powerful system of healing more formally in the months ahead. I’m coming to you with some updates about my offerings, but first—let’s talk a little about what Ayurveda is and how it might support you.

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is an ancient healing system from India and is the sibling science of yoga. It focuses on lifestyle practices, nutrition, and herbal support to create balance and well-being. Ayur means life. Veda means knowledge.  Together, the word Ayurveda translates to “the knowledge of life.” Through Ayurveda, we’re able to understand our unique constitutions and imbalances, offering a truly personalized and holistic path to wellness.

How Can it Help Me?

Over the past two years of study, I’ve learned how to support others with a wide range of concerns—digestive issues like IBS, bloating, and heartburn, hormonal imbalances, fatigue, stress, anxiety, and so much more. But Ayurveda isn’t just for those with a diagnosis or a long list of symptoms. It’s for anyone who wants to feel more connected to themselves, more in tune with the rhythms of their body, and more equipped to navigate life with steadiness and clarity.

Ayurveda meets you exactly where you are and helps you understand your body, mind, and energy in a way that’s deeply personal. It helps uncover the why behind what you’re feeling—and offers grounded, practical ways to support your health, whether you’re overwhelmed, burnt out, struggling with sleep, noticing hormonal shifts, or simply trying to feel better in your day-to-day life. No two people are the same, and that’s what makes Ayurvedic care so powerful—it’s designed to be individualized, insightful, and empowering.

If you’ve ever wondered why certain foods or seasons throw you off, why your energy crashes at a certain time of day, or why stress shows up in your body the way it does, Ayurveda can help illuminate the patterns—and offer tools to shift them. At its core, Ayurveda helps you know yourself more deeply, and I believe that’s one of the most empowering things we can do. I would be honored to support you in exploring what that could look like for you.

So, What’s New?

I’m still refining how they’ll be structured—whether as standalone services or woven into my therapeutic yoga work, what the pricing model will look like, and more. In the meantime, I’m offering a special opportunity in July + August just for established clients to begin working together ayurvedically at a deeply discounted rate.

Ayurvedic Assessment Session (90-120 minutes)

A deep dive into your full system—what’s showing up now and what’s been present long term. We’ll explore your health history, patterns, and lived experience through an Ayurvedic lens.

Report of Findings + Treatment Plan Session (75-90 minutes)

We’ll review your constitution (prakruti), current imbalances (vikruti), and the state of your vital essences (ojas, tejas, prana). You’ll receive a comprehensive document with Ayurvedic education, your doshic report, and personalized initial recommendations.

Please note: this is two visits, spaced about a week apart and requires the practitioner to complete 4-6 hours of analysis between them.

If you’ve been curious about Ayurveda or are ready to bring more holistic support into your life, I would be honored to guide you through this process.

Please reach out if you’d like to schedule, have questions, or just want to learn more. I’m so grateful to share this work with you.

I’m writing this blog because all of us are feeling the effects of the state of things right now, even if we’re not aware of it, because we are all connected no matter how much we try to forget that.

I am in it too. I’m here with you. I do not have it all figured out and I’m certainly not perfect. There are days that these priorities fall to the side and I slip into not so helpful patterns. When this happens, I notice it and course correct–and if I have capacity I reflect on what triggered the slip so that I can resource more around that area or create guardrails as best I can.

Some days are more challenging than others and I’m still navigating the ups and downs too.

Ultimately, I hope to be able to hold and share space with others who are also trying to figure it out & make the world a better place. Thanks for being here with me!
